04.07.2009 Innibos (01.-05.07.2009) - South Africa's fastest growing arts festival

South Africa's fastest growing arts festival, Innibos, will go green this year under the theme "100% Bosbewus" (bush wise).
Festival organisers will implement a massive recycling project at the festival, which drew 100 000 visitors to Nelspruit and generated R32m for the local economy last year.
When it began in 2004, Innibos drew 25 000 people and generated R8.9m.
"Special rubbish bins for recyclable items such as glass, cans and paper will be seen everywhere on the grounds," said festival marketer Sandra Jacobs on Thursday.
Innibos suppliers, sponsors and supporters will be encouraged to implement their own green projects.
Every effort makes a difference

"No matter how small each participant's contribution is, every effort makes a difference," said Jacobs.
All projects registered will be logged on the Innibos website's green page.
Musicians who are expected to perform at this year's festival, which will run from July 1 to 5, will include
Johnny Clegg, Mango Groove, Steve Hofmeyr and Nicholis Louw.
Stage productions will include Samoerai, Die Naaimasjien and Bure op die Bank.
As usual, there will be various art exhibitions. This year's festival artist will be Bettie Cilliers Barnard.
The festival programme will be available in May at

Saturday 4 July:  Jacaranda 94.2 Skouspel : DJ Ossewa, Kurt Darren, Lianie May, Anton Goosen, Juanita du Plessis, Steve Hofmeyr, Johnny Clegg
Innibos is known for bringing together the best there is to offer in terms of our open stage programmes.  This year is, as you will see shortly, not different.
During the previous two years, Innibos had Smokie and Boney M as special guests to add some international flavour to our menu.  This year however, we would rather like to showcase our own artists who had exceptional international successes.  This is why you will see that we have Mango Groove as "special stars" included in our opening concert (Wednesday 1 July) and Johnny Clegg on Saturday night.
